Applications available for Voluntary Demolition Program

The City of Tuscaloosa is accepting applications for voluntary demolition of private property damaged by the April storms. The Voluntary Demolition Program is part of the City’s “Final Push” to remove debris at no cost or insured cost for private landowner(s). The deadline to apply for the program is September 15th.

In order to apply for voluntary demolition, property owner(s) must fill out an application and provide a copy of the following documents:

  • Photo identification
  • Proof of ownership (i.e. deed, tax record, mortgage payment book)
  • Insurance policy

Representatives from the City will be distributing and accepting applications Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm in the courtyard lobby of Tuscaloosa City Hall located at 2201 University Boulevard. Applications are also available at www.tuscaloosaforward.com.

Property owners may mail their notarized application with all required documentation to the following address:

Applying for the program does not guarantee that the structure will be eligible for demolition under the Voluntary Demolition Program. To obtain an application or additional information about the Voluntary Demolition Program, please call Tuscaloosa City Hall at 205.248.5038.
