Troopers release names of 4 killed in Greene Co. wreck | News
GREENE COUNTY, AL (WBRC)- State troopers have released the names of the four people killed in a wreck in Greene County Wednesday afternoon.
Eight people were traveling in a 2004 Ford Explorer that left the roadway and flipped over before hitting a tree. The wreck happened around 4:15 p.m. on U.S. 11 at mile marker 52 about five miles south of Knoxville, Ala. No other vehicles were involved.
Officials say several of the people inside the SUV were related. They had just left a family in Boligee and were headed back to Tuscaloosa when the wreck happened.
A two-year-old was among the dead. Troopers say no one was wearing a seatbelt and child restraints were not used.
Troopers have listed the fatalities as:
-The driver, 21-year-old Justin Coleman of Alexander City
-Demetria Aaron, 30 of Tuscaloosa
-Latrice Robertson, 22 of Tuscaloosa
-Ziliyah Robertson, 2 of Tuscaloosa
Two teenagers and two children were also injured in the deadly crash. The children, ages 10 and 11, were taken to Children's of Alabama hospital in Birmingham. A 17-year-old was transported to DCH in Tuscaloosa and a 15-year-old was taken to Greene County Hospital for treatment.
The 15-year-old has been released from Greene County Hospital. The 17-year-old and 11-year-old are reportedly in fair condition. The 10-year-old is in serious condition at Children's of Alabama hospital.
State troopers say the wreck is still under investigation.
