TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC)- Hundreds of firefighters have gathered in Tuscaloosa this week to attend the annual Alabama Association of Fire Chiefs Meeting.
Nearly 200 professionals and more than 100 vendors are meeting at the Bryant Conference Center. The group says they're dealing with several issues including meeting the public's expectations of first responders while budgets dwindle in some departments.
"We've had to adapt to how we operate today. And these professional development opportunities gives us ideas how we can better serve the public with the resources that we do have," James St. John with the Alabama Association of Fire Chiefs said.
The meeting wraps up Thursday.
