18-year-old arrested for Tuscaloosa business robbery

An 18-year-old from Tuscaloosa has been arrested and charged with first degree robbery for a robbery that occurred Wednesday. Two suspects held up a clerk at gunpoint and robbed a business in the 7000 block of Highway 82 East on April 6. The suspects locked up the clerk in a back store room and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a release from the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

Friday, investigators obtained a warrant for the arrest of Ricky Lee Archibald. He was apprehended and taken into custody at 3 p.m. Friday on a bond of $60,000. Previously Archibald was charged with first degree robbery of another Tuscaloosa business in January and was out on bond at the time of his most recent arrest.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify the suspect in these photos. Police believe the black male was involved in a burglary Friday morning around 4:45 at the Tuscaloosa Country Club.

U.S. Marshals capture wanted man in Tuscaloosa

U.S. Marshals captured a wanted man in Tuscaloosa Monday morning.

West Alabama authorities have been searching for Scottie Ray Clifton for nearly a week. Clifton faces drug and robbery charges and is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

UA student robbed at knifepoint

The University of Alabama Police Department is searching for a man who they say robbed a student at knifepoint on campus Tuesday night.

Around 9 p.m. in the 300 block of Marr’s Spring Road, a 20-year-old female student was approached by a man carrying a knife and demanding her property.

The suspect is about 20 to 30 years old, about 6 feet tall, weighs about 200 pounds and has a muscular build. He was seen wearing denim shorts and a white sleeveless T-shirt.

Food World robber caught by Tuscaloosa Police

A Tuscaloosa man on parole for robbery charges is back in jail Tuesday after he allegedly hit a Food World cashier in the face and stole money from her register.

Police arrived at the Food World Grocery Store in the 600 block of Bear Creek Road where they say Stacey Jerome Bennett, 44, of Tuscaloosa committed the robbery and fled on foot.

Officers were able to locate Bennett about an hour later and take him into custody.

Bennett was charged with third degree robbery and is in the county jail on $15,000 bond. He was out on parole for the same charge that occurred in Dallas County.

Tuscaloosa police are searching for a white female suspect involved in a credit card fraud. She has used the credit card at least six times, according to a release from the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

A surveillance camera at the Wal-Mart on East Skyland Blvd. in Tuscaloosa captured an image of the suspect as she entered the store on a scooter. The suspect has a distinct limp when she walks, according to the release.

The suspect was last seen leaving in a maroon car, possibly a Nissan. Anyone who can help identify this suspect is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 752-STOP (7867). If the information leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.

Tuscaloosa Police capture suspect in "Spiderman" robberies

Tuscaloosa Police have arrested a man they say robbed an area Waffle House and Alabama Credit Union last week.

Desharese Kendrell White, 18, of Tuscaloosa has been charged with two counts of first degree robbery. His accomplice is not in police custody, and was shown on surveillance video wearing a Spiderman mask. White was wearing a black ski mask during the heist.

Earlier reports from TPD say the men were armed during the robberies which occurred on March 17. The Waffle House robbery was around 1:30 a.m., and the credit union was robbed later that afternoon at 3:05.

Each of the charges against White carry $60,000 bond. Officers are working on leads to help find the other suspect.
