Suspect arrested in McFarland Mall shooting
A Tuscaloosa man is in the county jail Monday after being arrested in connection with a shooting at McFarland Mall on Saturday night.
Demarrius Dion Thomas, 18, allegedly shot Burnest Wheat, 18, at around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday in the Shoe Station parking lot.
Thomas was charged with first degree robbery and second degree assault. His bond is set at $75,000.
Wheat was treated at DCH-Tuscaloosa for a gunshot wound to his hand. He was treated and released.
