Boys State helps clean up Tuscaloosa | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Members of Boys State helped to clean up the city of Tuscaloosa Thursday while they were in town learning about government at the University of Alabama.
They are learning leadership skills, and while they are out of class they are doing community service, including cleaning up the infield at McKinney Park.
“After all the devastation that occurred on the 27th and on the other days before during and after, the field is just one step towards helping the kids,” Brandon Abrams with Alabama Boys State said. “It gives them something to do. It gives the mothers and fathers that have other things to worry about. It gives the kids a chance to run around and play.”
Boys State concludes their efforts Friday with a tornado relief event for children who were victims of the tornado.
