How much are you paying for gas?

How much are you paying for gas?

A Fox 6 viewer, Tammy Waldrep, emailed us this photo of the gas prices in Boaz today. She took this photo at the Murphy's gas station. "We own a mobile auto glass business and these prices are killing us!" Tammy told us.

How much are you paying for gas? We posted the question on our Facebook page and have already received dozens of responses. So far, our fans have said the lowest price they've seen lately is $3.49 in Tarrant and the highest in the state is $3.69 in Fayette. A few out-of-state folks have posted much higher prices than the ones we've been seeing: $3.89 in Garret, IN and $4.55 in Fresno, CA.

Send us a photo of the gas prices in your neighborhood to pix@wbrc.com and we'll put together a slideshow comparing prices around the state.

New frozen yogurt shop opening downtown

A new frozen yogurt shop will soon inhabit a renovated building in historic downtown Tuscaloosa. Sweet CeCe's Frozen Yogurt and Treats will celebrate its grand opening Thursday, March 1 from 6-8 p.m. As a bonus, free frozen yogurt will be available to everyone who attends.

Shop owner Dan Banko says he plans to use the space to host fund raising events for local charities, giving away 20 percent of sales to the charities.

“Working with non-profits will enable us to really get to know people in Tuscaloosa and West Alabama,” Banko said.  “We hope to make a positive difference in the community.”

Sweet CeCe's will be open from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. beginning Friday, March 2. It is located at 2217 University Boulevard, next to the Children's Hands On Museum.
