Sippin' with the Fishes to support Black Warrior Riverkeeper | Arts & Culture

A couple of cocktails are going to help benefit the Black Warrior Riverkeeper Tuesday night at the McWane Science Center.
Guests 21 years and older are invited to attend a fundraising event called ‘Sippin’ with the Fishes’ starting at 6 p.m. Attendees will get to experience the center’s aquarium after dark, enjoy appetizers and beverages such as SweetWater beer.
Later in the evening, guests will learn about the Black Warrior Riverkeeper through the film “Wild Ocean” in the IMAX Dome Theater. The citizen-based nonprofit organization is dedicated to protecting and improving the water quality for Alabama’s source for freshwater biodiversity. The Black Warrior River drains portions of 17 Alabama counties, and its watershed has over one million residents and covers more than 6,000 square miles.
Tickets to the event are $20, are available online and include movie tickets, parking, hors d’oeuvres and an open bar.
