Salvation Army lacking holiday volunteers | Community Spirit

TUSCALOOSA (WBRC) - A lack of Salvation Army volunteers is hindering children from receiving gifts this Christmas.
Several people in Tuscaloosa have been telling the Salvation Army that they couldn’t sign up to donate toys to children as part of the Angel Tree program because no volunteers were available to fill out paperwork.
Volunteers are needed to work one hour shifts at the University Mall in Tuscaloosa. Since fewer people have signed up to help, organizers are scrambling to man the location. Volunteers are also needed to help distribute toys once they’ve been collected.
Whether or not you have time to volunteer this holiday season, Fox 6 hopes you will consider helping our Gifts for Kids Salvation Army Angel Tree campaign. You can choose an angel from the tree at Colonial Brookwood Village, or drop off a gift at an area Lowe’s or Chick-fil-A.
Our goal is to help 12,000 children this Christmas through the program. Help is needed even more in the Anniston area as more children have been added to the campaign.
